Last week, E1 Construction Network had the pleasure of delivering a guest lecture at Southampton Solent University, where we engaged with BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying students on the impact of digital innovation in Supply Chain Management.
E1, represented by Head of Global Partnerships, Melanie Bull and Senior Business Development Manager, Raushen Randhawa, shared insights on how E1’s digital platform streamlines tendering processes, enhances efficiency, and supports professionals in making data-driven decisions.
The session, facilitated by Senior Lecturer Denise White (ex Bouygues UK, Midas Group), sparked an enthusiastic response from the students.
The students were genuinely excited about the potential of E1 to save time and improve supply chain management from estimating to procurement.
The students were buzzing about how much time E1 could save them and the difference it would make to the management of the supply chain from Estimating to QS procurement - I expect there will be a number of managers getting updated tomorrow!"

The real-world applications of our platform resonated strongly with them, and we’re confident that many will take these insights forward into their future careers.
We always value the opportunity to connect with the next generation of Quantity Surveyors and provide them with a glimpse into the evolving landscape of digital tools in the construction industry.
At E1, we are committed to connecting the construction industry during procurement, fostering industry knowledge and ensuring that both students and professionals alike are equipped with the latest advancements to drive efficiency and innovation.
"It was rewarding to meet a group of people passionate about how they can positively contribute to the built environment. That’s what drives us at E1. Good procurement starts at tender. And making good decisions is much easier with the right tools and data"
Head of Global Partnerships
A huge thank you to Southampton Solent University for hosting us, Denise White, and to the students for their engagement and enthusiasm.
We look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring further ways to support education and professional development in the sector.
